So let's start by talking about some of those trends that we see in the marketplace. What I find inspiring is that we see a convergence of trends that are really helping people lower barriers to entry so they really can pursue their own career and lead businesses of their own and take their own products to market. If I look at people that I meet and work with in the marketplace today, most of those people that are coming into industry, they don't want to work for somebody else so much as create their own vision and find their own path in the world. So when I was a student and I went to school, I really went there with the understanding that once I'd qualified in my profession, I would join industry as a practitioner working for somebody else to help bring their ideas and concepts to life and take them to market. At the core of what we do is our vision and our mission, which is to help people create a better world and to do that, we need to empower them with tools and technologies that lower the barrier to entry so that more people can participate in the process of design and manufacturing great products that change the way that you and I live our lives. Let's talk a little bit about what Autodesk does. I look after our Business Strategy and Marketing for our design and manufacturing portfolio. Looking for Autodesk Fusion 360 certification prep courses? Check out additional learning resources to help you uplevel your skills: View Syllabus Demonstrate knowledge and skills in Fusion 360 applying design and manufacturing workflows to take digital parts to physical prototypes. Summarize the toolset available in Fusion 360. Explain the design to manufacturing process used to take a digital model to a physical part through CNC programming.

We learn the basics in each of these areas which are to be fully developed in later courses that apply these principles and Fusion 360 skills.Īfter taking this course, you'll be able to: We practice the basics of part and assembly design, and tools such as animation, rendering, and simulations using Autodesk Fusion 360.

This course explores the design for manufacture workflow and shows how to validate models and create the G code, the programming language needed to instruct the CNC machine on how to move.

Design for manufacturing is the process of designing parts, components, or products with the understanding surrounding design requirements for a specific manufacturing method.
